Description

This project brought a series of circus skills courses to schools and institutions in the Botosani region of Romania.

Objectives

The aim of the project was to train a group of teachers and social workers in the use of circus skills to further their work with children.

Remarks

The group, which retained the equipment donated by TSRT-CHB, has taken the name "Picadilly Circus" and will continue to work on and develop its own projects in Botosani and beyond. As well as these aspects of the project, time was spent in local schools giving classes in English and French. This unusual development in the work of TSRT-CHF was a fortunate accident, and shows how popular "native speakers" are for students of foreign languages in this region of Romania where few foreigners go.

The project was realised in collaboration with Cristina Mucalau, Vali Racila and everyone from Picadilly Circus, The Lupascu family and Iain and Audrey from TSRT Connexion Humanitaire Bisontine.
